Okay, wow you are brave reading this! You may want to ask yourself if you are sure? Are you?
In short....
Saturday November 2,
8:00 a.m. - pain in my lower right abdomen
10:00 a.m. - I start decorating for Jack's birthday party
12 p.m. - Cory comes home from meeting, I am on the floor in a ball in extreme pain
1 p.m. - Jack's friends arrive, I decide I can no longer stand the pain and go to hospital leaving Cory to run the show (convenient timing)
3 p.m. - sitting in an emergency triage room waiting for a bed and pain goes away
3:10 - wondering why I came in the first place and wish I could go home
5 p.m. - still haven't seen a doctor, phone has died,
6 p.m. - my mom comes to keep me company
7 p.m. - finally see a doctor who sends me for an ultrasound
10 p.m. - Doctor concludes that I do not have appendicitis and my right ovary (the only one I have) is fine. He tells me to come back if I have more symptoms.
ONE WEEK LATER - mild pain in my abdomen all week long
Saturday November 9,
9 a.m. - I start cleaning my house
11 a.m. - extreme pain in my abdomen, feels like someone is tearing it open, I can hardly breath
1 p.m. - drop kids off at birthday party
2 p.m. - check in to emerg.
4 p.m. - pain has gone away, but still sore, see doctor anyway
5 p.m. - go for an x-ray
6 p.m. - doctor says my colon is filled with stool and prescribes prune juice, extra fiber, and special tea
ALL THAT PAIN CAME FROM POOH. Here's how it happened, You can stop reading if you want too. I get diagnosed with celiac disease and lactose intolerance and stop eating gluten - which means no whole wheat and I stop eating my activia with extra fiber. So basically I shocked my system and didn't supplement the fiber I was missing.
INTERESTING FACT: Many people come in to emerg. with the same symptoms, most of them are woman, and almost ALL of them are suffering from constipation.
