LEARNING CURVE

You might think I am following up on my kids' eating habbits, and I will, but the main purpose of this post is to show you a dresser I (for lack of better words) revived.
And I completely forgot to take a before photo.
I picked this up off kijiji for free (thank you Ady's)
It used to be a big broken brown dresser, with ugly hardware,
which I have if anyone wants it.

First I sanded it down and filled in holes the hardware left with wood glue. Thank you Janine for coaching me through that process

And then I primed it once and painted it
cottage white by BEAR twice, added some weird
verathane finishing that turned it yellow and finally
I sanded it down to give it a worn look and help
hide my terrible painting job!

Here's the learning curve. I totally thought it would take me no time at all. But I was wrong. Each step took a few hours, which I spread out over a whole summer!
Other things I learned....
 - oil paints are really hard to work with
 - to get oil paint off your hands, lather them in oilive oil
 - to get oil paint off your paint brush...throw it in the garbage and buy a new one
 - if you tell a two-year-old not to put his hand in the can of paint....he will
-  centre knobs based on drawer location when the drawers are in the dresser....cause apparently their centres are different when they are not in the dresser
AND
 - I ended up loving all the mistakes I made. It just adds to the character!
Now onto my kids. It has been ten days since I started dinner training. I have had one successful night. I repeat 1! But I am sticking to it, and my kids are super hungry come morning. Thank you for all your tips. I always knew I wasn't alone...but it's always good to hear it again.
