MAY LONG WEEKEND

We had a great weekend at our cabin in Montana. The weather wasn't great, but I did read one whole book. It's called The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I would definitely recommend reading it.
So I thought our adventures on Monday might make you smile. We decided that despite bad weather we would go boating. Apparently fate had different plans. After about half an hour into our boat ride the boat dies. It just stops working. We paddled for an hour before we finally flag down a boat to tow us back to shore. It took another hour to get to the boat launch! Thank you to the kind old fisherman who saved us...cause we would have been paddling all day.
On our way home we get to the Eureka border and there is a 1/4 mile long line up of cars...we would have left earlier and missed the line up but oh wait, I remember, we were stranded in the middle of the lake. Oops. We decide to turn around and take a back road that we know about. Apparently it's 35 mile/hour back road. At least that's what the officer said when he clocked us going 57 miles/hour. He also informed us that our car seats weren't in tight enough and that our registration was a year old, opps agian. Somehow we got off with a warning. Maybe it was the fact that Jack was balling the whole time or maybe it was the fact that we think we saw him at church on Sunday. See the Lord does bless us for keeping the Sabbath Day holy.
Finally to make our day even more perfect, Jack decided to have the biggest blow-out of his life on the drive home. (No wonder he was crying so much). A drive that should only take us 4 hours, took us six.

  1. Leiah, I am so happy you have a blog! I'll add you to my list! I love your long weekend story. Soon you will learn it is better to take an extra day off work and leave on Tuesday morning instead of anytime on Mondays. We have waited and waited at that boarder! Hope you had fun despite your crazy weekend!
