TWO WEEKS NOTICE

April 7, 2011 is coming quickly! Here is a little pregnancy update! As of tomorrow, I am 38 weeks. I delivered Peyton at 38 weeks and Jack at 39. We'll see when this baby decides to come. I missed the full moon on March 19....bummer. But really I have some good news and some not-so-good-news!

GOOD NEWS:
I have only gained 35 lbs so far. Normally I am already at 45 lbs. Kind of embarrassing, but I just can't control my hunger when I am pregnant and the pounds just get piled on. I think it's kind of funny actually, cause I have always been such a petite person...but apparently not when I am prego. So far I have been able to bounce back too...so I just don't worry about it.

BAD NEWS:
So I am trying to stay optomistic, but this baby is still breech. He could still flip at any given time (cross your fingers), but I had an ultrasound to measure his size and position, and at 37 weeks they predicted that he was already 7 lbs 2 oz. My OB kind of laughed when she said he was a "good size." Apparently the likely hood of him flipping is minimal especially seeing as he will only continue to get larger. She also counseled me not to try doing a vaginal breech delivery because he has a "large" head.

Anyway, I haven't scheduled a c-section yet, but unless this baby flips, that is the way we will have to go. Really it's not that big of a deal I guess...but I really would prefer a vaginal delivery. Oh well.

OPINIONS:

I thought Friday April 1, 2011 would be the perfect day to schedule a c-section. I would then have conference weekend to enjoy with family and my brand new little boy. But that is also April Fools Day. Cory and I just think it's weird to plan a delivery on that day! Any thoughts?

BEDROOM SUCCESS

Having three children 3 and under in a 3-bedroom townhome poses some questions for sleeping arrangements. Jack is only 17-months-old and Peyton refuses to sleep on a top bunk. And so, originally I thought baby boy number 3 might have to spend his nights in our bathroom. It's large enough to fit a bassinet, so why not right? It still seems like a good back up plan.
Luckily for baby, we instead decided to dismantle the bunk beds and set up two twin beds in hopes that the boys might share a room. Thankfully it worked! For two weeks now, the boys have been sharing a room. Cory and I are stunned at our success! We have to stagger bed times...(Jack at 7:30, Peyton at 8 or 8:30), but we have not had any major problems. Kudos to Jack who is learning to sleep in a big-boy-bed and share a room all at the same time. He has fallen out of bed twice, but somehow slept through Peyton's screaming from a nightmare. I just hope this continues.
I am in the middle of redecorating. Definitely more difficult than I thought when your are 9-months pregnant and
have a limited budget...very limited!

I have done a few things though! The drapes are a DIY project and I am super happy with how they turned out! I found the fabric at Fabricland for $4/meter! The boat pillow fabric is from JOANNS and I think I paid $5/yard US. I just had to have it! I wanted to add a little nautical to the room, but not too much! I still need to take down the nursery wall paper!

Underbed storage is genius if you ask me! I can't believe I didn't invest in these tubs sooner. I am now storing all of the boys' old clothes in these bins. I organized them by age category which makes it super easy to rotate through them. And I love that they roll under the bed where they stay hidden until I need them! I got them at Canadian Tire for $12.50 a bin. They were reg. $24.95. I definitely lucked out.

In a perfect world the bed frames would match, I would be able to paint them and the walls, the boys would have a real night stand and the room would be twice as large...but that just isn't going to happen...so for now I guess this is as good as it gets. I am in the market for matching duvets though...one of the few things I have control over....just haven't found anything I am super happy with yet. Still, Peyton tells me he loves his new bed every day!

TALE OF THE POSSESSED TOOTHBRUSH

This is my toothbrush. Looks like your regualar electric spin brush....right? Let me tell you about this toothbrush. I have had it for 5 or 6 years now and absolutely love it. My teeth always feel their cleanest after I use it...just like at the dentist's office. But last night at 4 a.m. I was awaken by a loud buzzing noise. Of course I did not investigate, but woke up my courageous husband to go find out where the sound was coming from. It took him a moment and an extra nudge to realize I was serious, but he got out of bed and made his way to the bathroom. And guess what? The loud buzzing was coming from my toothbrush. I would like to clarify that it had not been used that evening...but may have been used in the morning. Still, it was not left on all day. Instead, it just decided to go a-wall in the middle of the night! Creepy, creepy, creepy! Cory was unable to disable the buzzing, and so the toothbrush was rolled up into a towel and stuffed in a cupboard until morning. At some point it must have died all together because it no longer works. I have to admit that I am sad to see it go...it's hard to come by a great toothbrush. But at the same time, I don't really want any creepy appliances in my house!

BIGGER

I usually like to blog more often...but really the only thing going on in my life is the fact that I just keep getting bigger and bigger. Yes, I am finally giving in to blogging about pregnancy...and for Pam, I added a prego photo.
SO my right kidney started shutting down during my first pregnancy with Peyton. It seems to be doing the same thing this pregnancy. It's not harmful to the baby unless I get an infection, and besides the discomfort, my kidney should perk back up once the baby is out. Still I had an ultrasound to see what the damage was so far....and found out that my baby is upsidedown, or breech. If the baby doesn't turn around I will be scheduled for a c-section, which I have decided doesn't suit my life style. I just don't have time for surgery or time to recover from one. So everyone please keep your fingers crossed!
Also this last week my body has been doing crazy things! I think now that I am on number 3 my body has decided to start things a little earlier. First, my stomach likes to contract leaving me breathless. Second, I started having cramps that I thought would turn into labour, but they didn't, And third, to top things off, all my southern joints are so sore.
I bet you are all really glad that you decided to read this blog...lol.
I'll leave it at that. I think it's safe to say that bigger is not always better! I can't wait to meet this little guy!
